Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Cool, Believable; But Beware! I bought this recently just to see. I never really thought of getting plugs or anything but these intrigued me. Turns out that i really like the way they look, but upon putting them on I also discovered something that maybe you won't realize when purchasing. THE SIZE OF YOUR STANDARD PIERCING MAY VARY. I discovered this when I put them in, and truthfully I have never done anything more to my ears than get a simple piercing as a kid. Unless you count a second piercing above my normal one as something more, but its still a normal piercing. Here's a little background so that you'll understand. One of my first piercings closed when I was a kid (so way before I even got a second one) due to infection and I had to get just that ONE re-pierced. I waited like a year to do that too. I guess I had 2 different sizes in my ears because it was re-pierced with a different earring which turned out to be smaller. When they did that, I slipped one of their starter earrings in the ear that was already pierced and allowed them to only redo the other. I also got it done at a different place that offers piercings, so that may be why as well. So basically when I got these, I didn't expect anything of them because they look normal, and are normal. The first one of these I put in went in perfectly fine, just like any normal earring would in my ear. But because my other ear piercing hole was a tad smaller from re-piercing it with a different company (which I only now discovered), I had to use some oil to fit it in and basically "stretch" it just a bit to fit these ones. I don't know if it counts as "stretching" really because of how small of a difference it was. These are 16g which equal about 1.3 MM while some standard earrings are 18g which equals about 1.0 MM. 20g is the smallest size of any earring which is only 0.5 MM which I doubt any starter earring would be. One of my ears was 16g and the other was 18g because of the difference in the earrings used to pierce my ears. It was off by 0.3 MM so no harm was done because it didn't cause any pain at all and there wasn't bleeding or tearing of the skin when I fit them in. After all of this, you can bet that my ears are still within the normal size for a regular piercing, but just beware that even normal piercings have different sizes. Usually starter earrings (from the first time you get them pierced) are supposed to be a little thicker so that they can fit all types of earrings once you remove them, but this depends on the company of the starter kits that were used and the place you get them done at because this wasn't the case for one of mine. I guess if they use a cheaper brand to pierce your ear, then it's going to be a smaller size. I would definitely recommend this set still, because I still plan on wearing them normally but just note that your piercing hole may be a little smaller than these. I would check with the place you got them pierced at just to be sure, if you're afraid. If not, a little bit of oil on your ear before putting these in will do the trick if they happen to be too small. And you don't have to worry because you can still wear regular earrings. These are still within the standard size, and I know this because one of my starter earrings was this size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from looks great! feels a little heavy on the ears at first if you're not used to wearing anything more than studs (like me) but other than that they look and feel really nice.
