Outlander Red Party Dress
With the move from Scotland's Highlands to Paris' high society came a shift in Claire's wardrobe, and no outfit was more iconic than her red dress. This tribute to her breathtaking look features chiffon trim at the neck and around to the V-shaped back. The neckline has a plunging V-shaped opening, reinforced with wire to ensure it keeps it's strong shape. The bodice has tight princess seams, so just like Claire, you won't have to wear a corset with this. 3/4 sleeves feature delicate ruching. The just below the knee length skirt has a minor petticoat to keep the skirt full and add drama. Finally, to modernize it, this dress has pockets. Hidden back zipper, fully lined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DesertRoseCosplay from Very well made! Just got mine yesterday, I'm 5'9 and usually a size 0-2 I purchased the XS and it fits perfectly, maybe bordering on a little big. I'm glad I went with the smaller size for me, but in the past I have thought that hot topic tends to run small. This seems more true to size in my opinion. The quality is excellent and it is much heavier than I expected! The petticoat underneath makes it full but not big, and the lining is very soft and comfy. It even has pockets!

Rated 4 out of 5 by CarrieMarie from Pretty, but odd cut. So I bought this like immediately because hello, OUTLANDER. I got a size S/M and I am 34-27-39. In the past I've had problems with Hot Topic dresses being too short on me, as I'm 6', so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was actually just above knee length on me! It was still big in the waist, which was strange as I went by the size chart, and it sat oddly on my frame, like midway between my natural waist and my bust in a weird "I look pregnant" zone. It smelled of a fishy packing smell, so I threw it into the wash and the dryer after reading the instructions on the tag. DO NOT DO THIS. The fine chiffon at the neck and back frayed and now it's all raggedy. It's still gorgeous, but I'm sad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unimpressed in Red from This dress is nothing short of tragic. I don't even know where to begin with this one. In the picture the dress looks lovely, what arrived on my doorstep was anything but. The dress is a pretty red, silky material, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. The waist sits more at the "true waist," which is horribly unflattering. The v of the neckline fell so far that most of my (very ample) chest was exposed. The shoulders pulled, the sleeves were closer to 3/4 length than elbow. And the waist! It's just huge. I carefully measured myself and picked my size based off the size chart. The dress ended up being a solid two inches wider than the listed measurements. It was so big I had to check to see if I'd been sent the wrong size. I also found two snags on the back. It is simply unwearable and the definition of frumpy. Trying it on was so upsetting that I ended up in tears. I've honestly never bought a worse dress from Hot Topic.

Rated 2 out of 5 by HotTopicShopper12345 from huge dress I've never had an x-small dress at Hot Topic be too large for me. In fact, I usually wear smalls. I ordered the small and when it arrived, it fit more like a medium bordering on large. I was quite initially shocked by how big it was. Thinking they'd somehow mistakenly sent me the wrong size, I checked the tag and it was indeed the right size. I returned the dress and ordered the x-small, hoping it would somehow fit. Unfortunately, even that one was too large for me in the shoulder and chest area as I'm more slender and not at all busty. Although there was still a little room in the waist, I might have gotten away with it if the top of the dress didn't fit so terribly. I would have needed an x-x-small. It was quite disappointing since I really wanted to keep this. The quality of the dress itself was great and the fabric was nice and heavy. I absolutely adored the pockets! This dress would be awesome if only the sizing was right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by jwistin19 from Horrible fit and quality and not flattering I ordered this in a size 12 and size XL since I always order 2 sizes so I don't have to place multiple orders if something doesn't fit. I order a LOT of clothing online and I have gotten cheap clothing off of Amazon at better quality and prices than this. Both dresses have flaws in the seams as well as the edging, which is frayed. They are also both too big! I'm a solid 12-14 (5'6" and 190 lbs with an hourglass to pear shape) in just about every other clothing line. I could have easily ordered a 10 and if all other things with this dress were ok, I'd have likely kept it. It's a shame since I had my heart set to love this dress. If you are tall and slender, this dress will probably be flattering. Apparently not made for hourglass figures. Not really made for anyone if you expect at least a decent quality piece of clothing for $75+.
