Hot Topic offers both eGift Cards as well as physical gift cards. Both eGift Cards and physical gift cards come in a variety of colorful, fun and seasonal designs, which makes finding the perfect one for your recipient easy. There are no shipping charges (if shipping within the continental United States) on physical gift cards if purchased on Hottopic.com.


How to Purchase Gift Cards

For eGift Cards, click here and follow the simple directions. For physical gift cards, click here. There will not be fees associated with Hot Topic eGift Card - you will only be charged the face value of the Hot Topic eGift Card. In addition, if you're only buying physical gift cards, you'll get free ground shipping within the continental United States. After you've made your purchase, you will not be able to change the value.


How Recipients receive Gift Cards

On the delivery date you choose, an email is sent to the recipient informing them of your gift with a link to retrieve it online. The link in the email goes to a page showing the Hot Topic eGift Card you created (including the design you selected, your recipient's name and your personalized message), its value and code number. This page also gives simple instructions for redeeming the Hot Topic eGift Card. The delivery date is pre-set to the current date, so if you do not select a different date, the email is sent on the same day as your purchase.

For physical gift cards, you will have the option of specifying the shipping address during checkout.


How to Redeem

You can use your Hot Topic eGift Card or physical gift card at all Hot Topic stores and Hottopic.com. Please make sure the gift card number is clear for redemption. There is no expiration date on your Hot Topic Gift Card. We recommend that you redeem it soon after you receive it, so you don't forget. Hot Topic Gift Cards cannot be reloaded.

Q: How do I know the recipient actually received the Hot Topic eGift Card I sent them?

A: You will receive an email confirming delivery and a message notifying you that the Hot Topic eGift Card has been viewed. Q: What if I lose my eGift Card?

A: Your Hot Topic eGift Card has cash value and should be safeguarded as such. If you lose your printed eGift Card, contact Customer Support immediately. If your Hot Topic eGift Card has not been redeemed or has some remaining value, we can cancel the original and issue you a new Hot Topic eGift Card for that value.

Q: What if someone makes a copy of my printed Hot Topic eGift Card?

A: Our state-of-the-art technology inhibits fraud, but you must safeguard your Hot Topic eGift Card for your own protection. If someone makes a copy of your gift card and redeems it for the full amount, your copy will have no value. No matter how many copies are made, the value of the Hot Topic eGift Card is tied to the gift card number. When that number is used, the value of the purchase is deducted from the Hot Topic eGift Card. If you suspect that someone has copied or stolen your Hot Topic eGift Card, contact Customer Support immediately. Any value that has not been used can be reissued to you in a new gift card.

Q: When is my credit/debit card charged for my purchase?

A: Your credit/debit card is charged at the time of purchase. This purchase will appear on your credit/debit card statement as HOT TOPIC CSTAR GFTCRD.

Q: Can I buy a Hot Topic eGift Card for myself?

A: Yes. To do so, enter your own email address in the "Recipient Email" field, and enter your own name as the recipient name. Then check "This is for myself." Complete the transaction normally. When you receive your eGift Card alert via email, follow the instructions in this message to retrieve and redeem your Hot Topic eGift Card.

Q: I want a printed Hot Topic eGift Card to present to someone as a gift. How do I do this?

A: Simply personalize the Hot Topic eGift Card for your recipient, have it sent to yourself, and then print it. To do this, enter your own email address in the "Recipient's Email" field, and check "This is for myself." Enter your recipient's name and your personal message on the gift card preview, and complete the transaction normally. You will receive a Hot Topic eGift Card alert via email. Follow the instructions in this message to retrieve your Hot Topic eGift Card, and then choose "Click to print this page." The resulting printout may be presented as a gift to the recipient, and may be redeemed at all Hot Topic stores, as well as Hottopic.com

Q: Can I send two (or more) Hot Topic eGift Cards to two (or more) different people who share an email address?

A: Yes. If you send separate gift cards to Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim at their shared email address, they will receive two messages with the subject "[Sender] sent you a Hot Topic eGift Card from Hot Topic" with your name in place of [Sender]. Within the text of the emails, each message will be addressed to the respective recipient, using the name you entered in the purchase process, for example: "Mary Smith, John Jones sent you a $XX eGift Card from Hot Topic."

Q: What happens if I use a Hot Topic eGift Card but an item on my order is sold out?

A: If you’ve used a Hot Topic eGift Card as payment for your order and an item has sold out, you’ll receive a refund check in the mail. The refund process takes 2-3 weeks.
