RETURNS
We hope you love what you’ve ordered, but if there’s an issue or you’re not 100% satisfied - Return your item(s) to the nearest Hot Topic Store (please verify that item is returnable to store) or return by mail below:
Returning by Mail
If you have an order number and your items are returnable via our Merchandise Restrictions and Exceptions, you can easily use our return portal. For international (non-U.S.) returns, please use the self-serve return form and follow the directions for international returns.
Pack your return securely, in the original package if possible, and include your completed return form. Hot Topic is not responsible for lost or damaged packages. You will not receive a refund for your return until we receive your returned item and your return has been processed. You will not be reimbursed for original or return postage. Once your return has been received, please allow up to 2 weeks for processing and up to 7 business days after the return has been processed to receive your credit.
Returning to Hot Topic Stores
You may return your purchase to any Hot Topic location. All returns must be accompanied by the original receipt. All merchandise must be returned in its original packaged and ticketed, unused, and resalable condition. All returns are subject to our Merchandise Restrictions and Exceptions. Please note that certain items purchased online may not be returned in-store. To confirm whether an item purchased online is returnable in-store please check the item detail page, which you can navigate to from your order details page. Once your return has been received, please allow up to 14 business days to receive your credit.
Exchanges
Sorry, we do not offer exchanges. if there’s an issue or you’re not 100% satisfied, you can return your item(s) to a Hot Topic Store (please verify that item is returnable to store), or return by mail.
Merchandise Restrictions & Exceptions
Merchandise Refunds are valid within 30 days of purchase except in the following situations:
- All sales are final and cannot be returned for the following merchandise:
- Beauty: Makeup / Fragrance
- Body Jewelry
- Bulk Purchases
- Bulk purchases consist of greater than four (4) bags or mini backpacks total or greater than five (5) of any other merchandise SKU. Click here for more details.
- Candy and any other consumable products
- Clearance purchases
- The following Collectibles:
- Blind Merchandise
- Funko styles with chase variants
- Electronics – if opened
- Gift Cards
- Halloween
- Costumes and costume-related items
- Swimwear – if worn or without original tags intact, or sanitary panel in place
- Fashion Masks, Face Masks, and Bandanas
- Vinyl Records/CDs – if opened
- The following items can only be returned within 7 days of in-store purchase or 7 days of receiving the item from an online order:
- Bags
- Collectibles
- Please note: Funko - If you are attempting to return a Funko POP! Figure, here are some things you need to know. POP! Figures are mass-produced. As a result, minor variations occur during the manufacturing process. These variations can include slight creases or scuff marks on the packaging. While we wish everyone could receive a pristine box, it isn’t always the case.

- Defective merchandise will be refunded within 90 days of purchase.
- Shoes can be returned by mail only. Shoes are not returnable in-store.
Refunds
Mail-In
For mail-in returns, we’ll process your refund as soon as we receive your returned merchandise in our warehouse. Depending on your bank’s policy it can take up to 7 business days if in the U.S., and 14 business days if international (non-U.S.) from the date we process the refund for you to receive a credit. You will not be reimbursed for your original or return postage. Shipping surcharges are not refundable. To learn more about shipping surcharges, check out our Shipping FAQs.
In-Store
For in-store returns, all refunds are processed to the original form of payment, unless:
- You are unable to provide the original receipt, or
- You are attempting to return a product more than 30 days after the original purchase date.
If you are unable to provide the original receipt or are returning a product more than 30 days after the original purchase date, we will be happy to issue a gift card credit for the current selling price of the items you are wishing to return.
For in-store returns, please allow up to 14 business days from the date your refund is processed to receive your credit.
Refunds on Promotional Items
If you have purchased any products pursuant to a promotion and decide to return those products, your refund will be based on the promotional products’ prorated price after the discount was applied. To see the prorated price of your purchased items please review your original receipt for in-store purchases or order details pagefor online orders.
International Returns
For international (non-U.S.) customers, please fill out the self-serve return form and follow the directions below. You can return an item by shipping it back to us, at your expense. Please pack your item(s) safely, and note any tracking information, as Hot Topic cannot track your package for you. Hot Topic is not responsible for lost or damaged packages.
Prepare Your Package
- Include the self-serve return form in the return package.
- On the self-serve return form, write a description of the items you are returning along with the reason code for returning.
- Pack the items safely in the original box or shipping bag and remove or cover the original shipping label.
- Seal the package and return to 7295 San Gorgonio Dr. Riverside, CA 92508, using your preferred method of shipping.
- Please write down any tracking number or take a photo of it for your reference.
