During the midst of the pandemic, a call went out. Using echolocation, some of the greatest minds in horror heard it, and they answered! The result is FANGORIA #8, a uniquely “2020” issue in which we coped with a lack of movies by entreating horror friends to get creative and, fill our pages! And, boy, did they deliver:
- PATTON OSWALT: The comedian and actor sends us the comic strip he submitted to Fango in 1984, in which Michael, Jason and Leatherface duke it out;
- MARY HARRON // NATALIE ERIKA JAMES: Harron (American Psycho, The Moth Diaries) interviews director Natalie Erika James about James’ haunting new film RELIC, an intergenerational tale of home invasion and dementia;
- SETH ROGAN // DAVE FRANCO: Seth Rogen interviews his pal Dave Franco about his directorial debut THE RENTAL, a perfectly-2020 film in which some couples retreat to a rental home where they might be spied on;
- JOHN CARPENTER // EDGAR WRIGHT : Writer/director Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim, Baby Driver) interviews John Carpenter to discuss the 40th anniversary of 1980’s THE FOG, and muse about the end of the world;
- TERRIFYING NEW FICTION: from Joe Lansdale and Josh Malerman;
- JONAH RAY RODRIGUES: Actor and comedian Jonah Ray Rodrigues realizes his dream of being killed in a slasher film.
- INCREDIBLE COVER: This wraparound art by NATE MILINER depicts a battle royale between horror royalty, from Carrie to a xenomorph.
