who doesn't buy black hair dye at hot topic?
I've tried so many brands of dye and Arctic Fox is the best. It's super easy to use (no mixing products) and you can save any product you don't use for later. It actually has a pleasant smell which is super nice if you dye your hair often. This is the blackest black color and while you'll seem to wash out a lot of blue/purple when you wash your hair, the intense black remains. I have very long hair and I just needed one bottle to touch up my existing black. If you're going from a lighter shade to black, I would recommend 2 bottles to really saturate the hair. Also, for me, it works the best if you cover your head with a plastic shower cap and either use a hot hair dryer or just sit in front of a heater while the color soaks in. :)

Dracula's Favorite Hair Dye
Smells incredible! I was hoping it would have looked a little more pitch black, though--it turned out like more of a natural black on me, almost an extremely dark brown in the light, but I'm still giving it 5 stars cuz it smelled really good, didn't hurt my eyes or give me a headache, and the consistency was pretty thick so it didn't drip all over the place which was really nice. Does stain your sk8n and nails quite a bit, though it scrubs off really easily with soap and hot water. Still really happy with it. :)

Disappointed and stained blue
Being a Diy at home black box dye kind of gal I am always looking for less harsh options. The dye seemed super promising when first applied, very dark with blue undertones, exciting!
But after I left it on and under plastic for 60 minutes and my VIRGIN ROOTS had only gone one or two levels darker and look a weird green/grey color. It also bled EVERYWHERE and stained my whole tub while I was rinsing in a way that none of the other brands of hair dye I've used have. 10/10 would not recommend. Also it smells like a perfumed grape, yuck

Love the color but it bleeds a lot
Arctic Fox Transylvania is my favorite black dye because it’s the perfect matte black Without the blue shine that some other brands have. And it’s been a few years since I’ve dyed my hair. So last month I ordered it and dyed my hair, however, every time I washed my hair it bled out so bad and stained my hands purple/blue. I don’t remember it being that bad when I used it in the past. I recommend wearing gloves when you wash your hair.

I have been dyeing my hair about once a month for the past two years. I am a former Hot Topic employee and I used to buy another brand of hair dye that my store sold, but most of my coworkers used Arctic Fox and said they much preferred it to my brand. I tried this color to compare it to the black dye from my usual brand, following the instructions EXACTLY, and it was an utter mess. I have shampooed my hair seven or eight times over the past three days but my hair will not rinse clear; in fact, the runoff is still almost opaque and it is still leaving dark stains on my bath towels. Yesterday I walked home in drizzling rain and my hands are stained blue just from pushing my wet hair out of my face. It transfers no matter how many times I shampoo it. My bathtub is ruined; I understand the risk of rinsing dye out in a white tub, but no dye I have ever used before has left a stain that was this obnoxious. My old black dye had left a very faint stain, but this stain is so noticeable that my bathtub looks like it has cow spots. I would recommend staying away from this product and opting for a different brand. My old black dye rinsed nearly clear after rinsing it out in cold water for no more than ten minutes, and after that my hair would leave very faint stains, if any stains at all, on my towels and sheets. With this product, I have vigorously shampooed my hair at least twice every time I've showered since dyeing it and it still will not leave my hair.
